Here is our new artistic director Jaime Belmonte!
Jaime (born 1988, Murcia, Spain) has experience on all the following: Leading and singing in a choir, teaching and composing.
Jaime has graduated as a master of music from Sibelius Academy with composing as his main subject, also including a lot of studies in leading.
Jaime has composed numerous works for different kinds of groups, ranging from choir compositions to chamber music. His composition style leans towards modernism.
During the start of the year Jaime will finish his current tasks in Helsinki and gets to fully work with the choir later in the spring.
Our 20-year old group had an irresistible chance to expand our operations and step into a new age with a double team of leaders!
Riku Miettunen (born 1997, Jämsä) is our new choirmaster. Cooperating with the artistic director he builds the choir's artistic direction, arrenges excercises and gives voice production advice focusing on the challenge's of the current concert repertoire. He will also take care of the rehersals while Jaime attends remotely.
Riku is a third-year singer in Ruamjai and has already worked as a backup conductor. He also has long-time experience in both choir singing and conducting. He has participated in various choirs in Jyväskylä and Helsinki and gathered studies in music education in University of Jyväskylä and music pedagogue in JAMK University of Applied Sciences.
Before Jaime Belmonte and Riku Miettunen, Ruamjai has been brought to its current measure and reputation by Kirsi Kaunismäki-Suhonen, Iina Karjalainen and the founder of the choir Sanna Salminen.
